Don’t Be Rude in Social Media

A peculiarity of social media is people don’t always know the way they share information or the way they participate on a social network can be interpreted as rude. You may have the best of intentions but on a social network nobody can “see” your intentions.

1. Understand how the social network works. Just because automation is available, doesn’t mean you need to use it all the time.

2. Mix it up. Only sharing links or only forwarding what others share doesn’t look authentic.

3. Repeating content so it is available in every time zone in a day is counter productive.

Always add value. This can’t be stressed enough. Everything you tweet should add value to your followers’ day.” ~ Kevin Allen, The 10 Essentials of Twitter Etiquette.
